Half Day tour - Rendez-vous with Budapest

 

During the rendez-vous with the beautiful capital, you will see the most interesting sights of the twin-city: Buda-Pest. The tour starts with the visit of the Heroes’ Square with the Millennial Monument, where the country's dramatic history comes to life and continues around in the City Park, passing by the famous Széchenyi Bath and the Vajdahunyad Castle.

 

While driving through the wide avenues and boulevards, you will pass by the Opera House and St. Stephen's Cathedral. Several bridges, all with their own special beauty connect the two sides of the Danube, Buda and Pest. Each bridge was rebuilt after World War II.

 

On the Buda side of the city, you are going to visit the Castle district with its romantic narrow lanes and one-story buildings, its charming Fisherman's Bastion and the "jewel" of the Castle district, the Matthias Church. After visiting the Castle district the tour continues up to the Gellért Hill to discover the massive fortress, the Citadel, and the imposing Statue of Liberty, with a breathtaking view of the Danube and over the entire city. The tour ends at the designated drop-off points

Full Day Day tour - Danube Bend tour

 

Discover one of the most beautiful and popular regions of Hungary - the Danube Bend - where the river forces its way through the steep hills in a narrow curve to reach Budapest.


Transfer from Budapest takes approx. 1 hour; the first stop will be Esztergom, to visit the Cathedral, rising on the Castle Hill and the Treasury. Leaving Esztergom, the tour continues to another popular town of the Danube Bend, Visegrád. Transfer takes approx. 25 minutes. From the top of the fortress, enjoy the panoramic view over the Danube Bend. At the entrance to the ruins, musicians dressed in medieval costumes will welcome you, and led to the ruins of the citadel.

 

A special lunch will be served at Restaurant Renaissance, where all dishes are prepared according to Renaissance recipes and are served by waiters dressed in period costumes.

 

After lunch, transfer to Szentendre takes approx. 25 minutes. There you will visit the  most famous museum in town is the Margit Kovacs Museum, displaying works of Margit Kovacs, the world famous ceramic artist. After a walking tour in town, you can enjoy some time on your own. There are many galleries and a selection of shops with handicrafts and souvenirs make it worthwhile to explore.

Half Day tour - Treasures of the Pest side & Wellness at Szécheny Bath

 

During this tour guests can reveal the secrets of hidden treasures of Budapest downtown and afterwards spoil themselves in the thermal water at Széchenyi bath.

 

We start with a walking tour from Széchenyi Square (“Pick-up point 2”), where Intercontinental & Sofitel hotels are located). Our guide will walk you to Váci Street, which has been the most famous shopping street in Budapest; here are boutiques, coffee shops, department stores, and shops selling everything from Hungarian handicrafts to international designer articles.

 

We walk along the Váci Street to the Market Hall, where guests can taste some Hungarian specialties as well as do some souvenir shopping. In the historical Market Hall one can find all kinds of products from paprika to linen, lace and embroidery. Our guide takes the guests on a walk through the hall, showing them the most interesting things, the basic raw materials of the Hungarian cuisine and the best places for shopping. Afterwards guests have some time to explore the market on their own.

 

From the Market Hall we transfer guests by coach to the Széchenyi Bath. This marvelous spa is one of the prides of Budapest, being one of the largest spa complexes in Europe. The springs supplying it are known for almost two thousand years. It's also the first thermal bath of Pest, situated in the heart of the beautiful City Park just a minute away from the historical Heroes’ Square.

 

After a short tour of the complex, you will be guided to the changing rooms (please bring your own swimming suit and slippers) and you will be able to enjoy the water.

 

Then guests will be transferred by coach to the drop-off points.

 

Duration: 6 hours - 10:00 - 16:00 - Lunch included at local restaurant.
